Lightbulb Via RAID1 Install

Hi, Slackware 12.1 doesn't appear to support my onboard raid. What can I do to solve this other than using software raid instead.

I have tried booting from a Fedora install dvd which shows the array as sda.

Slackware doesn't appear to detect the drive and so I can't partition it.

On board Via is firmware or "fakeraid". Essentially software RAID, supported by dmraid. Several distros (apparently the latest Fedora) automagically use dmraid for support, in Slackware you'll have to do it yourself with an initrd. There's a thread dealing with the situation in the Slackware forum; you can look there or you can use mdadm...
