I have inherited a slackware box that is running version 7.0. I need to upgrade this box. Can I go all the way to version 10 or should I take an intermediate step? any suggestions are appreciated.
I would suggest you make a clean install coz there are so many differences between Slack 7 and 10, so this may coz you some problems on your system if you just do a simple upgrade.
Yeah, Slack 10 has a different dir structure. And since there are NO libs or anything else in common beween the two(maybe xwmconfig?), I'd just do a fresh install.
Yeah, upgrade is reasonable when going to the next version of from last version to current, but when you have to replace everything, its better to just make a clean install.
