Strange boot error. . .

ok, I partion the disks with a linux swap and a linux boot...
I install slackware, and everything installs.
It asks where it wants to install LILO, and i say the hard drive
and then i reboot my computer...
and I get a L...

So then I try it again...
I install slackware... flawless...
It asks where it wants lilo, and i say a floppy disk...
and then i reboot it...
and i get Grub...

All I can say is that the L stands for Lilo, and grub (of course) stands for grub...
Im assuming that probably something is wrong with the installation of the isos, but Im not shure if this is the problem or not... I would just like some input...

oh yeah... I have also found that the burning speeds (like at 50x, i really never paid any attention to burning speeds, but mainly high speeds) have burning errors, like when i installed slackware, and some of the programs would not install, but it would sucsessfully boot... I use nero burning rom (an old version of it, not the Newest one...)

If installation is the problem, please tell me how i can have a more accurate install of slackware.

Thanks for any help!

well for one, Slackware does not install grub by default.........you have to
install it yourself............

So, did this drive have Linux on it previously??
this would be the only reason that grub is on it.........

The letter 'L' is part of the LILO start message. The explanation of the various portions of the start message 'LILO' are in the LILO documentation (/usr/doc/lilo on my Debian system) in the Manual(.txt.gz) file in the section titled 'LILO start message'
