lntel Core i3-350M with internal GPU and seperate Nvidia Geforce 310M

Not sure if I should post here, under general slackware or hardware.

Planning on buying a budget notebook.

(Medion MD98250 / P6622 )

It's got the new i3 cpu, with internal graphics and an extra Nvidia Geforce 310M card, with 512MB of it's own dedicated ram.

Under Win7 it will use the CPU's graphics part on normal 2D work, and save powerconsumption,,. and will boost performance on 3D stuff (games, movies, HD? ) with a switch to the Nvidia card, when needed, giving up on batterylife, favouring performance.

Not planning to use the Win7 bit though. Like to know IF it will run Slackware ( 13.x 64 ) with KDE. I would like to know IF Slackware can handle this new Core i3 processor, the internal GPUthingy inside the CPU to have good battery life, and if KDE/Slackware will switch to the Nvidia card when performance is asked.

Or, if it can't: is that a 'can't' yet, or never will support the double GPU's?

PS: 15,6" 1366x786 -> a non multiple of 8 resolution, that will work won't it?

I found an lspci from a german user of the laptop (ubuntu user)..

Kernel 2.6.34 adds support for laptop hybrid graphics switching. The kernel devs named it VGA_SWITCHEROO 2.6.33.x has support for the Arrandale/Clarkdale platform - Slackware 13.1 appears to be shipping with 2.6.33.4
I've read that some BIOS's have an option to disable one GPU or the other. Unless battery life is more important than anything, I'd disable the Intel graphics, and stick with the Nvidia GPU.
