Installing slackware 10.0 on old p166 with 2gig hd and 128ram

I want to install slackware on this old machine to serve as a home built router. My hd is very small so I need to trim the fat off the full installation. I would like to know what needs to be installed and what can be left out? I would also like to install a lightweight window manager.

I run ZipSlack (slackware 10) on a p133 with 64megs of ram over at my parent's place.

It works wonders and does not interfere with their Win98 install on the same partition.

You can use ZipSlack on non-umsdos partitions... and then use swaret to install the packages you need. (like X and any other servers.)

ZipSlack alone only takes up under 100 megs of space uncompressed.... and 40-something zipped. (hence the Zip in ZipSlack)

Check it out.

well that would be very simple to do, just install only the following packages, plenty of room

A (40.5mb) base pkg
AP (43.0mb) extras
D (109mb) compilers,etc
K (37mb) kernel source
N (54mb) networking files

and thats it for a router thats all you need. as for a window manager you dont even need it, if you are using the computer exclusively as a router, dont even waste space on X.
