[SOLVED] grub getting stuck at boot

Hey,

Just installed slackware on my laptop .I tried grub with slackpkg and ran grubconfig, checked my menu.lst. Everything looks fine but when I rebooted, grub gets stuck at "Grub loading. Please wait" . Grub on other distros like arch and ubuntu work perfectly. I even tried installing the one from slackware-current but its the same problem. Any ideas whats going on here?

I have always used Grub for Slack and it works well except for ext4 installations.

This may happen due to corrupt files in /boot/grub directory. You can use a rescue CD to boot, and then chroot to the root partition with /boot mounted. Move all the files except menu.lst out of /boot/grub. Then run grubconfig on the drive. This should repopulate the /boot/grub folder with the appropriate files.

thanks for the reply, I fixed it by turning the boot flag on the partition, I thought I didnt need that as it was installed on MBR, its weird... marking as solved
