Epson printer 3720 does not work...
Hello, *
I am having a problem with my new printer. It is an Epson WF-3270 colour printer, and installing it under Slackware (I am on Slack 14.1) presents a problem. I can find drivers- installing them is a bit of a problem: rpm tells me that some dependencies don't match; this can be overridden by --nodeps, and then I get a ppd file (in /opt, took some time to find it...). Installing the new printer with this file works fine, everything says "OK", but then I want to print something, and nothing happens. At least not on the printer...
I can get a message on the console, saying something like "not
connected", which is not true (I can see the properties of the device), or just "Page 1", and nothing else. There is also a diagnostic possibility, and then I get a file (which I attach, just for who is interested). Unfortunately, I cannot see much reason in it, why printing should fail..
Next, I should like to contact Epson Product Support-- I guess, they
would find the problem in a few minutes... but where can I find an Epson expert? Whatever I try, I always get pages with advertisements, product announcements, but I bought one already. I just want to drop this file troubleshoot.txt to an Epson expert, but I cannot find any...

I also set symbolic links libescpr2.so libescpr2.so.1 libescpr2.so.1.0.0 from the lib subdirectory, but this did not help either... also copied them to /lib, just as a try... this did not help either.

Well, actually I did get it working... after trying a few things... I am now trying to remember what I did...
I chose the right driver under CUPS Print Settings (it is on the CD), and then I played around with the library files... should set a symbolic link between ld-2.17.so and ld-lsb.so.3
Somewhere around that point, it started working.

Happy to hear that! Worth remembering what you did to get it working, others might need that piece of info too.
I was wondering where you got that driver in the first place as I couldn't find it online. Actually there was only an Ubuntu entry that had a broken link to the driver. Good that you got it on the CD.
