couple install questions

I am installing Slackware on an older PC, PIII 450 with 512 megabytes of ram. I have two harddrives. The first hd will be where Slackware is actually installed. I wanted the second hd (which is only two gigs) to be the swap partition. All of the installation instructions I have read say that you should make your swap partition first on hda. My question is will it have any ill affects if I make all of hdb my swap partition? Also, how dangerous is it if I put lilo on the MBR?

hey, this is Slackware, and you can put your swap anywhere you want!!
and you dont really need it to be 2 gigs!! 400 megs will be way more than enough..........

As is general rule, it is recommendet to have a swap size 2x your RAM size (in your case 1 GB). But if you don't need the space of your second HD, you may use all of it as swap space.

Installing lilo in the mbr isn't dangerous in any way.
If you later have the need to reinstall Windows , the mbr will be written anew during the installation. Or simply boot with a DOS/Windows boot disk and type:

fdisk /MBR
