Yes it's possible but only configure one during the initial setup (preferably the pad which will always be present). The second mouse can be added later by editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf
I don't know which laptop you have, or which kernel you're running,
but I have both a Synaptics Touchpad and an USB Microsoft Wireless
Intellimouse Explorer® 1.0A working on this computer. If you'd like
to see the kernel configuration, and xorg.conf file, just say so and I
will post them for you. I'm running Slackware -current with a custom
2.6.13 kernel on a Toshiba Satellite A65-S126 here.
