Question Error 40 with ldconfig when installpkg ARM packages from x86_64 15.0

Hi,

With a x86_64 machine, I use installpkg -root to install ARM packages on a rootfs.
Since a while ago, I used the ldconfig-2.15 and it worked nicely.
Now with the 15.0 release, I got this kind of errors:
Code:
/sbin/ldconfig: No link created since soname could not be found for ld-2.23.so
/sbin/ldconfig: libBrokenLocale-2.23.so is for unknown machine 40.
Any idea about how to solve this on x86_64 ?

I am not sure about this, as I only did a quick search online, but: Maybe it has something to do with glibc being version 2.33 on 15.0 and on -current glibc is at 2.35?

Are you using Slackware current on ARM or Aarch64 for your rootfs? I know you did not mention anything about -current.

More information is required to help you troubleshoot. A small amount of googling mentioned glibc, ldconfig, and ARM.

I use a 15.0 x86_64 PC and install 14.2 and 15.0 ARM packages.

I had the same problem when I was porting to AArch64, so I ran ldconfig on 32bit Slackware ARM instead. I used 32bit x86 to generate the ld cache for 32bit ARM _many_ years ago, but this has been broken in glibc for quite a while now. Some distros perhaps carry a patch - I haven't looked, but you may be able to rebuild glibc on x86_64 to get it working.
