Xwindows + 100dpi

Hello, in an effort to make fonts look better on my 19" screen i was to see what 100dpi fonts would look like, but i am having trouble getting getting X to actually use the 100dpi fonts. By defualt the dpi size is 86x86. when i do
Code:
startxfce4 -- -dpi 100 -depth 24
the resolution says its not 100x100 but i see no change in the fonts. Thanks for the help.

Karl
