XMMS controls my volume

XMMS seem to now be my master volume control. When I reboot all my volumes settings are set to max and I still get nothing. If I lauch XMMS and turn on the volume there suddenly everything else works. My main problem with all this is that XMMS volume constantly reverts back to 0% after a reboot.

Any clue on how I could get the volume in XMMS to at least keep the last value it had when I reboot?

if u are running alsa, then do this :

1. run alsamixer, and set the volume that u want.
2. run 'alsactl store' as root.
3. edit rc.local and add 'alsactl restore' at the end.

hope this helps,
shreev
