XFCE multimedia keys

Hi, I have a asus notebook and I'm using Robby packages for XFCE 4.8.

I installed xfce-volumed from slackbuilds and I chose asus layout for my keyboard but still my volume keys don't work.

Can someone help me?

Did you also install the mixer?
Once installed and put on the panel, but before you use it, right click on the mixer icon and change the settings around, then change them back to the correct settings and then save your changes. If you don't do this, the first time you put the mouse over the icon and move the wheel, the mixer will report an error and un-install itself from the panel. This has been reported by other users and I've seen it myself.
I had trouble with the volume keys in 4.8. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. They do work fine in Xfce 4.6.2, using the default keyboard selection.

I haven't used xfce4-volumed before so I'm not sure if this will be of any help but this is how I set my multimedia keys on my desktop keyboard.

- Menu > Settings > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts

Then add the following commands and assign them to the keys you want

- amixer set Master 5%+
- amixer set Master 5%-
- amixer set Master toggle

Thanks WetDreams it work very well.

Although the description of xfce4-volumed said that it should do it automatically, but at least it is working now.

Just to inform that the new XFCE-volumed 0.1.13 correctly detects and assigns my audio keys.

Thanks to robby and his package.
