Question Wpa2-psk help slackware 13.37

I need an idiot proof guide to configuring WPA2-PSK to work on slackware 13.37.
I'm running KDE if that is important. wpa_gui says, "Could not get status from spa_suplicant.

Alien Bob's page is pretty much the standard reference on Slackware.

Yeah WICD will work very well for this. Even if you don't set up everything in the inet1.conf, wireless.conf, and wpa_supplicant.conf files, WICD will do everything for you as needed.

Just make sure you check and see if you need firmware for your wireless card as many often do.

The simplest way of connecting without using inet1.conf or a daemon such as wicd is to use wpa_supplicant.

Run this once:
Code:
wpa_passphrase ESSID password > /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
Change ESSID for your access point name, and obviously replace the password.

Then simply run this every time you want to connect:
Code:
wpa_supplicant -B -i wlan0 -D wext -c /etc/wpa_supplicant
dhclient wlan0
Should work on most devices unless you have some really funky driver.
