I scanned one collection of B&W photos with my NT4 system that has the parallel port scanner connected. Went surprisingly fast. I scanned the photos as they were in the album and have not cropped the photos to individual files. I have not added any meta data. I made several trial runs and then settled for scanning at 200 dpi.

Those photos have no known negatives.

I haven't done anything with my photo collection that all have negatives or are color slides. The slides remain in good condition, but to scan those I'll need special hardware and possibly a Windows system. I don't expect to get around to any of that for a while yet. Too many other things in the way right now.
