Wireless card restore defaults ?

Wireless connection worked all the time.
I didn't make any upgrades but only played a bit with kismet. Everything worked as expected, kismet was able to set promiscuous mode, sniffing did the job, etc.

But now suddenly
Code:
iwconfig eth1 key open [2] 1234567890
stops working, before it did worked. Kismet is now unable to switch card to promiscuous mode, before was able. What happened ? I didn't touch any setting. Did kismet somehow twisted card's firmware ? Even turning my notebook off and on has no effect.

Could help to reset somehow wireless card to factory settings ? Any idea ?

Wireless card is Intel PRO/Wireless PRO 2100. Using latest ipw2100 drivers and firmware.

Some cards, the centrino is like the orinoco, have to be reset entirely after having been put in monitor mode. For slackers like me that's as easy as /etc/rc.d/rc.pcmcia restart, but your gear is onboard... You might want to play around with the vagaries of "iwpriv" to turn monitor off good and proper... or really, smash together a good script for various settings and have one of the options rip out the module and reload it... I could provide an example if you like.

Cheers,

Finegan
