Wifi goes down after 15-20 minutes work.
Hi,
Several days ago my laptop suddenly started to lose wifi connection after only 15-20 minutes up. The wifi router is fine. The wired connection is OK. I run all Dell utilities and no errors were found.
It is a i7 with Slackware64 14.1.

Doubt i can help more than saying I've had physical issues with that nic before.
Edit: Thinking about it more I was presuming it had something to do with the nic but in the end it was an issue with the motherboard, similar symptoms but these can apply to many other cases of course; disconnects although in addition wonky connections.

It is possible to be a motherboard problem because when I try to restart (after losing connection) it will freeze while hardware check before getting to the boot loader. And maybe it is some kind of overheating problem. It is a 4 years old laptop it might need cleaning.
Anyway, thanks.

I had the same problem and did something similar to the link Head_on_a_Stick posted: added "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1" to a file in /etc/modprobe.d.
