Why is this pIII_sse?

From cat /var/log/message
Code:
Mar 18 19:25:52 darkstar kernel: pIII_sse : 4320.000 MB/sec
Mar 18 19:25:52 darkstar kernel: xor: using function: pIII_sse (4320.000 MB/sec)
It's pentium D.

Is there any way to stop it?
Is there any problem if i stop it at boot time?

If you don't know what it is, then leave it as it is.

What makes you think this is something that should be or can be disabled?

A couple of quick google searches show that this appears to be an in-kernel checksumming function of some kind. And sse is a class of hardware extensions on pentium-class cpus. So it appears to simply be a report that the kernel is using the sse extensions for it's checksumming, along with the speed of processing.

In other words, it doesn't look like anything to worry about.
