where can I find at what mesa release, glx switched from version 1.2 to 1.3

Hi all,
I am running slackware64-v14.0, which included mesa-8.0.4 (yes I know this is rather old at this point, but it is a server pc running non stop since then). In this version of libmesa the glx version is 1.2

$ glxinfo | grep version
server glx version string: 1.2
client glx version string: 1.4
GLX version: 1.2
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.4.1)

Due to requirements from an application (Qt creator), I need to update to glx version 1.3. There is obviously no point trying to build the latest mesa because all the other libraries and kernel are rather old at this point. So I am looking for the libmesa version at which glx version changes from 1.2 to 1.3. Well it has been impossible so far.
The libmesa release notes state nothing related to glx version, nor has google been of significant help.
The closest I got to an answer was this wikipedia table (see "Table of Rendering APIs", under "Overview" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesa_(...hics)#Overview ), but the GLX version column seems wrong. It explicitly states that version 8.0 of mesa comes with GLX version 1.4, which is clearly not true as I can see on my system.

Do you know where I could obtain that information from?

Your underlying OpenGL (and kernel video driver) seem to be much older:
it says OpenGL is still 1.2 (and Mesa 6) there.

On my system I do get 1.4, but then, my system isn't really using mesa at all, the hardware NVidia driver(s) and ditto libraries do the translation (to the hardware GL on the video card):
Code:
server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
server glx version string: 1.4

client glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
client glx version string: 1.4
so what is supplying the glx on your system?
Is the kernel or the video driver too old?

well yes,
this is slackware 14.0 so .. old! kernel is 3.2.29, but mesa is a user space set of libraries.

My guess is your graphics card proprietary installer updated the mesa library too.

I do not plan on installing the closed source driver, so I will have to compile mesa myself.
I was just hoping to avoid trying to go through every single source of mesa just to see which glx version each one has.
