When configuring inkscape-1.1.2 on Slackware64-15.0, imagemagick is not found.

The configuration log says:
Code:
-- Checking for module 'ImageMagick++<=7'
--   No package 'ImageMagick++' found
So the configuration summary says:
Code:
WITH_IMAGE_MAGICK:       OFF
However imagemagick-7.1.0_22-x86_64-1 is installed.

Any clue appreciated.

saxa reported it, 1 year ago

https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/1294
Code:
You can build with GraphicsMagick instead (which has API compatible with ImageMagick 6).
Simply configure with -DWITH_IMAGE_MAGICK=OFF -DWITH_GRAPHICS_MAGICK=ON, and confirm
that GraphicsMagick is used (i.e. WITH_GRAPHICS_MAGICK is "ON" in configuration summary).
There's currently nobody working on ImageMagick 7 support. A patch would be welcome, though.
maybe it hasn't changed

Not exactly the same issue (build succeeds and newer version here), nevertheless I am building it with GraphicsMagick support and that seems to work. I will not request Patrick to downgrade ImageMagick for that

PS. Maybe I could trick the cmake tests to accept ImageMagick 7.1 and see if the build succeeds but I don't have the time for such experiments
