what modules are needed for alsa t work?

I have soundcard suuport, Ensoniq AudioPCI ES1370, and OSS sound modules all enabled as modules in my kernel, but alsa can't load all of the modules. I get errors like "can't find module snd-ens1370"

What else do I need to enable to fix this problem?
THanks so much.

Download alsa drivers from alsa-project.org and install them.

I just make sure that I compile ALSA support as modules. As I recall, it's only one line when configuring your kernel.

You're right, with the 2.6.x kernel. However, I'm running 2.4.26, so alsa is not a part of the kernel. Sorry I wasn't clear on that earlier.
