Yes. Both Robby and Eric create excellent Slackware packages, I trust their work completely. I'm running Robby's OpenOffice.org package, it is excellent:-)

Thanks for all the inputs---For the moment, I'll try Kword. (Bigger fish to fry)

I've now successfully installed a few other things and things are looking less confusing.....
