vmxnet3 in Slackware 14.1

I installed Slackware 14.1 in VMware workstation 14.1. It mostly works. I just cannot get traffic to go over eth0. No matter what I do nothing is sent or received, and no pings work. Everything else appears fine though. I complied a new kerenl 3.10.18 with the vmxnet3 adapter. vmxnet3 is shown to be found on bootup, ifconfig shows a valid IP address assigned, I selected bridge networking for the VM and I have ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3" in my .vmx, but no matter what I do network will not work.

Does anyone know why this might be?

I figured it out, I had to bridge to a specific adapter for some reason with Virtual Network Editor in Vmware workstation.

Use a bridge instead of NAT and you will be fine
I always use bridge all the time

You sure? Because VMware just released Workstation 10.

That is a VMware issue, not a Slackware issue, so please bug the commercial support over there. Or they will never notice, that their product is broken. The VMware guest tools still need a lot of fixes to at least work with Slackware, the included network scripts are broken, too. And their vmware-installer doesn't work on Slackware either.
