The VMware forums was the first place I tried. No luck there either.

I'll install VMware 1.0.7 from scratch on a freshly installed Slackware 12.1 machine I have at home tonight, just to check if this problem occurs. But I'm almost sure everything will work fine, as I have installed VMware many, many times without problems on Slackware 11, 12, 12.1, etc.

I asked before, but repeat my questions here:
- is your install 100% standard & full, or did you skip any packages?
- any upgrades from -current, or is your install 100% from the stable branch?
- did you install any extra, non-Slackware packages?
- did you encounter any problems when running the perl script to configure VMware?
