Those choices appears automatically in your KDE desktop when you put the DVD.

You can add vlc choice with vlc-opendvd.desktop :
[Desktop Entry]
X-KDE-Solid-Predicate=[ StorageVolume.ignored == false AND OpticalDisc.availableContent & 'VideoDvd' ]
Type=Service
Actions=open;

[Desktop Action open]
Name=Open with VLC
Exec=/usr/bin/vlc dvd://%d
Icon=vlc

Sorry, but that's all gobbledygook to me, and not only that, the only thing that happens when I insert a DVD into the drive is that the computer recognizes that I inserted a DVD into the drive, and does nothing else - regardless of what I put in the command line.

And I know of a better solution. Figure out how to get VLC to play when I insert a DVD into the DVD drive, then share that information with the rest of us.
