Post usb


when i do: mount /proc/bus/usb <enter> response: according to mtab usb is already mounted on /proc/bus/usb mount failed so how do i access usb? my floppy drive is a usb device. if it's already mounted, how do i read what's on my floppy drive?

I don't see why you're trying to mount anything in the /proc directory, there isn't much sense in that. You mount things in the /dev directory. Typically, if it's a floppy drive it'll be listed as '/dev/fd0' or fd1 or whatever. If you have a floppy disk in there, you can run '/sbin/blkid' and it may be listed on there. If not, you can look through 'dmesg' and see if it's detected.

i'm just want to mount my floppy drive. i do not have a built-in floppy on my computer. i plug my external floppy into one of the usb ports on my computer. if in the root directory i do: 'mount /dev/fd0' i get: '/dev/fd0 is not a valid block device'

plug your floppy into usb and run dmesg
