It's probably something to do with whatever mouse driver I am installing on Slackware (gpm and usb etc) as well as the fact that I don't install x and xap etc as I don't use the gui. I am really not worried about it as the only time I ever physically access the machine is when I am setting up a new install of Slackware which is not very often as I usually create an image and then clone the image onto new servers I am rolling out. The putty and ssh works fine scrolling up and down, and I use page up and page down most of the time anyway. It's more just to get the pointer to the exact line which is where I used the mouse now.

I am only working on creating a new Slackware image now as I am wanting to fix issues that I didn't have time to resolve last year or add new functionality that again did not have time to resolve last year. I do notice when I boot up there are some udev error messages and I suspect that this has something to do with the scrolling problem. But I can live with it - I just don't have the time to investigate as I have so many other things to do these days.

Everything else works flawlessly. So all is well here.

Thank you for all your assistance. Much appreciated.
