Unknown Internet Activity.

Often when I first connect to the Internet in the morning, via a DSL modem, I notice there is traffic going back and forth, but I don't have anything setup to automatically update itself so I close the connection.
This has also happened when connecting while running XP and Norton's pops up and says it has block an intrusion or worm, whatever. It happened again this morning in both Slackware and XP.
I've ran AVAST and RKHunter on the Linux parition and haven't found anything.
Is there anyway to find out who is talking to who when this happens.
Many Thanks.

Thank you. It seems to have something to do with Tor.
