unable to connect Slackware Using Windows putty


Hi Everyone I'm haveing a problem with slackware the problem is that i cannot connect slackware to putty what could be the problem please help.

1) don't connect as root - won't work unless you eanble in sshd.conf
2) check if you have ssh service running

If this is over a remote link via broadband check your firewall that it allows incoming traffic through port 22. Also why did you make this a poll?

I'm having this problem with slackware whenever i netconfig its goes back to the same ip address whenever i restart computer is there a command or something i can to do save connection information.

am really new to to using forums and i guess i didn't know if it was necessary

netconfig must be run as root and it saves information. of course, you can do it by hand in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf
