Unable to configure openoffice to use kprinter

This is not obviously a slackware problem but it is on a slackware system and I suspect it is something wrong with the slackware openoffice2 set up

I want to print through kprinter. Openoffice does not but seems to go through lpr.

I can find no way of changing this. I have tried running spadmin ar root but the option to add new printers is greyed out and there does not seem to be any way to change the command to kprinter. I have tried editing the command line in psprinter.cong but all that does is shows a difference in what is displayed in the dialog box but no difference to what is actually run.

This is more an OO problem rather than a Slack problem I think. Have you tried the OO forums?

I wondered if it was a problem with the OpenOffice2 tgz. I do not recall this being an issue with open office 1 which I installed using the package from open office rather than a tgz.
I have found a workaround. Spadmin does not let you install a printer, but you can install it as a writing to pdf but give it the kprinter command.

In fact having now looked on the openoffice forums I find that I am not the only one to have found this work around. Ridiculous bit it works
