tuning/securing and ntp sync' in

hey, slackware has been powering my schools webserver for sometime now, i would like to know what things i should be doing to tune and secure the linux. it runs apache, mysql, webmin, usermin, sendmail and ssh servers.

also how can i set up ntpd to sync the hardware clock with a time server somewhere in scotland - my local time, since many of the php scripts on the site need accurate times.

/etc/ntp.conf

Code:

restrict default noquery notrust nomodify
restrict 127.0.0.1
server <your server>
driftfile /etc/ntp.drift
logfile /var/log/ntp.log

Something like that should do the syncing.
By a cron-job every once in a while run
hwclock -systohc (how often would depend
on how often the box reboots ;} - note that
by default a ntpd sync will fail if the difference
exceeds 3600 seconds. If this is the case
run ntpdate <server> manually after having
stopped ntpd)
