there was no options for usb mouse. i was using the ps/2 mouse when the system asked in xf86config

i mean trying out a generic physical ps/2 mouse on your pc rather than a usb mouse.

try these commands:

# xfree86 -configure
# cp XF86Config.new /etc/X11/XF86Config
# startx

if it doesnt work could you post the error?

if you are configuring X under gui, i think you have to use the keyboard arrows/num to move the mouse.

after reinstalling it, it's working now but i didn't know what is the cause of the problem. maybe something to do abt package dependencies.
