I am using the current slackbuild to install transcode; The configure portion of the slackbuild terminated with the error
Code:
ERROR: option '--enable-libpostproc' failed: cannot compile libpostproc/postprocess.h
libpostproc/postprocess.h can be found in the following packages:
libpostproc http://www.ffmpeg.org/
ffmpeg, mplayer and mplayer-codecs-all were also installed using slackbuilds.
Also I can not play a commercial dvd using mplayer.
I had almost the same issue. I tried to compile Transcode in current, but I always got an error about ImageMagick could not be found, although I had it installed.
I had to remove the "--enable-imagemagick" from the SlackBuild in order to compile it.
I'm also having problems playing commercial dvds with mplayer even tho I have libdvdcss installed, and playing dvds even those with other region codes works fine in xine. It must be some problem with mplayer because I compiled both svn and rc2 mplayer with all sorts of different options and it just refuses to work.
The version of ffmpeg is probably the problem. I used the currently available slackbuild for ffmpeg, but the source download failed so I used the source from a while ago. the ffmpeg folks must have been working on their source library when I tried to download ffmpeg; Just tried it again and all works;
Will report what happens when I get ffmpeg re-built.
libdvdread, libdvdnav and libdvdcss were all installed from www.slackbuilds,org yesterday.
really ? even mplayer plays DVDs ? or that wasn't part of it ?
Yes, Mplayer plays commercial dvd's now; I do get an error playing dvd's but it does not seem to affect the result -an error box is displayed with the message
Code:
Warning MVs not available
I have no idea what this means.
after seeing xine, I prefer it to Mplayer
(not only did I install the latest ffmpeg, I also updated Mplayer to the latest)
