tightvnc, x11vnc, and xrdp mess in my head

hello everyone,
i'm afraid i'm abit messed up with
all the vnc's that i'm trying out ..

i have installed x11vnc and xrdp from slackbuilds.
i have (later) also installed tightvnc from /Extra.

at this point I can start a tightvnc server - say in display :1 - (from its rc.script) and connect to it from another computer using a vncviewer.

I can not seem be able to start x11vnc server if tightvnc server is not running for that display ! (i'd expect the opposite to be the case)

as for xrdp, i can't get it to connect:
I have tightvnc server running , and trying xrdp frm a windows machine. i'll get the xrdp prompt but
non of sesman-Xvnc, console, vnc-any, sesman-any,rdp-any, sesman-x11rdp connects..

firewall is down, the sesman.log says nothing interesting and i haven't tampered with the xrdp and tightvnc config files... any thoughts?

the normal msg i get poping up in the xrdp session when connecting through sesman-Xvnc says:

Quote:
connecting to sesman ip 127.0.0.1 port 3350
sesman connect ok
sending login info to sesman
login successful for display 11
started connecting
connecting to 127.0.0.1 5911
error - problem connecting
ofcourse I am not running anything on disaply :11 and probably that's why it has a connection problem woth port 5911..

yet i haven't come across an option to set the port number.. and the xrdp always slips away by choosing the number of the display increment by 1 compared to the display number i have set for the vnc server...

I have enable X11 forwarding for ssh .. that probably plays its part, but i don't know how to orchestrate everything....!

thank you for your help.
