Thunderbird 91

I know this is a Slackware forum but I've done some searching with no results that work and the visitors here are very knowledgeable.

I'm running Slackware64 -current. I've always just downloaded the new versions of Thunderbird from their website and unzipped it into /usr/local.

I just downloaded version 91 yesterday. I use Thunderbird to manage my gmail account since I don't like their interface.

Since the update when I try to forward an email the send button is greyed out. If I try to compose an e-mail the send button isn't greyed out but nothing happens when I push it. If I to to gmail itself I'm not having any problems.

The port is 465. It's using SMTP.

I don't know much about these things. I would love some feedback if possible.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention when I go to my address book nothing shows up. When I go to compose an email however it will auto fill the name. Very strange.

Well I couldn't figure this out so here's what I did -

I exported my address book and calendar.

Purged my /home/dave/.thunderbird directory (I had a back up just in case).

I made sure imap was turned on in gmail.

From there I just started thunderbird and set up the gmail account as per instruction on the internet (it's real easy). Since imap is turned on I got back all of my folders and emails.

I imported the address book and calendar files and...everything works. I can again send emails with thunderbird.

Thanks for the responses. Marking as solved even though I never figured out what caused it.
