System freezing constantly!

Hi all, Im newbie in the Linux World, I just have slackware installed have some months on two computers...

With my k6II 550mhz 288mb ram, everything onboard, its run fine without problem and freezing.
With my Athlon XP 3200+, 640 ram, 120gb + 80gb hd, Slackware 10.1 is freezing everytime!!

Sorry my english, I ll try explain how it happens...

The mouse just freeze by 2 seconds, back quickly and freeze again by 6 seconds, something like this.. Not just the mouse but all the system and back ok. I have gkrellm running and the cpu usage jump to 99% when happens!

I have few startups processes such as initd, sendmail, sshd and syslog. I use the sendmail but sometimes it open connections that I dont know! (I see some processes from sendmail with unknow hosts, I think its closed for external connections)

Someone can help me? Thx a lot!

Hi,

Add this line to your LILO.conf file, save and re-run lilo and you should find you are ok.

append="pci=noapic"
