swaret help- updatedb not working

I was following shilo's guide as a reminder of all the things I did the first time around to get things going. I got to the section on slocate. I thought it was essential to help swaret work correctly. So:

Code:
touch /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db
updatedb&
I enabled slocate in my swaret.conf (setting a value from 0 to 1, i believe). Then, I try to update my system:

Code:
root@home:/home/andrew# updatedb
fatal error: updatedb: create_db(): rename: No such file or directory
Any idea why this isn't working properly?

Andrew

That's strange. See if /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db exists. You "touch"ed it, so it should.

Code:
ls /var/lib/slocate/*
It isn't essential to use slocate for swaret to work, but it is MUCH faster.

Try

Code:
man slocate
and then, if necessary, take a look at your swaret.conf to learn how swaret utilizes the database.

It's used for locating missing libraries, not updating. But it is equally important: missing libraries=malfunctions.
