Dear ALL,
Probably a subject for PAT
During the weeks I was running several tests around a new version of Sendmail with supports the DANE protocol
(see: "http://www.five-ten-sg.com/mapper/blog/DANE,%20sendmail,%20openssl").
I modified the site.config.m4 script and changed versions 8.15.2 to 8.16.0.29).
It did look OK, however one error was shown in stdout of the console.
So, yesterday I reported the error messages to
sendmail-bugs-2018@support.sendmail.org
and got a replay that STARTTLS was probably not enabled.
However it was in site.config.m4 file.
So I gave the content of the above file.
The reply of a second e-mail was the following:

Really? Please tell them to fix it. That is obviously WRONG!
confMAPDEF [varies] The map definitions, e.g.,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-DSTARTTLS -DSASL=2 -DTCPWRAPPERS etc belong in:
confENVDEF [empty] -D flags passed to C compiler.
So the above informed me that the sendmail set was WRONG sendmail.org requested me to tell you and PAT
this feature.
Of course I changed the site.config.m4 script and rebuild the package. Thereafter it did run OK.
Probably the above does not only apply the 8.16.0.29 but also to the Slackware 14.X and current versions.
I also would like to stress the word "etc" in list of sendmail.org.
Our updated package source can be found on "http://talo.nl/talo/download/slackeware/14.2/" (please use the full path).
Best regards,
talo
