Question su colors

Not a major issue, but something that has become a bit of an annoyance with me.... What i am trying to accomplish is to maintain "ls" colorization when i "su" to another user... I've tried putting the "eval `dircolors -b`" command (among others) into many of the differant scripts (profile, .bash-profile, etc) but nothing seems to make it stick. I know that all i have to do is type "alias ls='/bin/ls --color'" after suing over, but i don't feel that i should have to :-p
Does anyone know a way to fix this (minor) dillema?? Thanks

From the man page for "su", you could try using the " - " argument before the username.

"The optional argument - may be used to provide an environment similiar to what
the user would expect had the user logged in directly."

I would think that might allow your profile changes to take effect for the shell.
