Start programs at WM runtime

Hi again, I'm guessing this is an easy problem I just can't find the right file. Anyways, I boot into runlevel 3. Then when I type startx for run level 4 to start kde, kde ends up opening a bunch of programs I don't want opened, like amarok, fire fox and a konsole shell. How do I get this to not happen? Also I need to start kooldock on boot. Can anyone point me to the right file to edit(I assume there is a file that executes programs at the start of run level4)? Also does anyone know why this happened? I'm guessing this has been asked before, but I guess I couldn't find the right search words. Thanks.

Hi

Go to the KDE Control Centre/KDE Components/Session Manager and select start with an empty session, this should turn off some stuff.

Drop a kooldock link in ~/.kde/Autostart (this should work, but I haven't tried it).
