ssh: connect to host darkstar port 22: Connection refused

Hello,

I get this message when I try to connect to darkstar (a laptop with wifi) from computer A. But I can connect to darkstar from B, and even from A through B.
A and darkstar have exactly the same installed packages (slackware64-current), the .new files have been treated. I have also tried to remove all the ~/.ssh/known_hosts

it is also impossible to connect to A from darkstar

Yes, they are all on the same network. The firewall configuration is that of slackware (I did nothing).

what happens if you use the IP address instead of the hostname?

If I use the IP address instead of the hostname I get the same result.

But ping works with the two.

@Toutatis

You could have an IP configuration issue/conflict in your LAN there. Check the IPs and netmasks on your systems.

@abga

You are right, NETMASK[1]="255.255.255.0" was missing in darkstar. It works now

But I don't know why it has worked for 5 years until this morning without this change... Maybe a recent update
