Question soundblaster AUDIGY driver

Hello everybody!

I would like to get help / info about how to install a driver for
the Soundblaster AUDIGY sound card .

If somebody know how to install , please reply with a complete
install guide , special & explicit for slackware !

What do you get if you glue to Imacs together and remove the
monitors ?

A brand new football !

http://sourceforge.net/docman/displa...group_id=44773

The most recent file to download is a .tar.bz2, bunzip2 it and then tar -xvf it.
Follow these instructions, and when you edit the config file, point it to /usr/src/linux. It should install and you can test it by opening a terminal and typing "modprobe emu10k1"

The next thing to do is to start this module every time you boot, open /etc/rc.d/rc.modules in a text editor and do a find command for "emu10k1" delete the # before it and that should activate the module on boot.

BTW, this is how I did it on 8.1.

I had this same problem under slackware. I did what darkmage suggested except I changed the variable in the config file to the correct place for my distro. Everything went well through the make, make install, make tools, and make install-tools commands.

When I tried to modprobe emu10k1 I got this message:

/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: init_module: No such device

What does this mean and how can I get the driver to install correctly?
