Sony memory stick pro duo found in kernel, don't know how to mount it
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-T350P laptop. It includes a Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo internal card reader. I am attempting to mount this memory stick onto my filesystem, but I am not having success.
I am running Slackware 12.2 right now. I know how to mount a USB flash drive, and I can do that because I know what device that I need to mount it from. I am having a hard time determining what device I can mount this from.
When I pop in the memory stick, this is what I see in dmesg:
tifm_core: MemoryStick card detected in socket 0:1
I tried looking at other posts, and there was a method that I tried using that I found from an Ubuntu post, and tried this, but my kernel must have panicked, and maybe I scribbled over the wrong memory when I did this. (That is probably because I am unsure of what this command did.)
According to the Ubuntu post, some users of the Feisty Ubuntu found success by looking at lspci, and locating the Mass Storage Controller, which is my Sony MS/Pro Duo Internal Card reader. Then, using the setpci command, I entered the following:
setpci -s 02:04.3 4c.b=0x02
But like I said nothing happened.
How do I find out which device is the correct one? Am I looking in the wrong place?
Thank you, janhe for the suggestion. I apologize for not getting back with you earlier. I have been busy this week. I installed the program, and I get the message "Stopping because no sg devices found". That sounds to me like what is does in an "ls -l /dev/sg*" and prints out the devices, and if that is the case, then this is true, I do not have any of these devices attached.
I will attempt to keep look in my effort to fix this issue. Thank you for trying.
