Sony Eric K850 + Slackware 12 Memory Card not listed in /dev
I've Been using said Sony Eric in Ubuntu, Fedora, Windows for some time with much success. But being new to slack I have of course forgotten to do something I'm sure.
In short.. The K850 has an external Sony M2 / MicroSD Transflash reader that is not being detected whilst the internal memory (which is actually detected as a memory card) of the device is being detected and mounts with ease.
Put simply. there is no other entry in /dev/disk for the memory card of the K850.
Kernel version is 2.6.21.5
A search of this place says to look around the /dev/ dir for the sd device, but since mine is missing im confused.
Without the phone connected,
Code:
dmseg | grep sd
says...

With the phone connected lsusb lists just one device related to the phone, just as it does in Ubuntu. the dmesg in Ubuntu points to the 2nd device giving it the entry as sdc1.

What's the output of `/sbin/blkid`? Your dmesg output seems strange -- there are seemingly no new devices detected, unless the time course of your actions is iffy. /dev/sdb1 appears as a new device at the end of your dmesg output, but is shown to already be present. Other than that I can't help you (I know, I contributed basically nothing to this thread) since I know nothing about mounting phones in Slackware, internal memory or external card reader.
Yes lists the internal mem, and the 3 partitions on my SATA hard drive. ... wait sda2 is supposed to be my swap drive hahaha sda3 is my home dir.. what the!!!
Perhaps there is something in the kernel that needs to be turned on?
