Have a bit of pride, people!

Read that before post again in this thread: https://alien.slackbook.org/blog/pal...my-repository/
I'm not a follower but a leader. I don't move like everyone else. I'm my own man, still respect Alien Bob work.

The story is not (only) about Eric, read what they say about us. You want quotes?

well if khronosschoty wasn’t doing a top notch job being awesome and producing a package and contributing.. I’d say slackware and its user base can rot in hell..
That's what they believe about us. Is not enough for you?

With all due honesty, this is only the insult upon injury. All my own dealings with the palemoon devs have been like talking to a wall at best and exceptionally unpleasant at worst. That said the part that really killed it for me was watching how much time khronosschoty spent jumping through hoops for their broken gcc and glibc requirements, their complete lack of interest in fixing it and how they more than once blocked users from using legitimate security based add-ons (i.e. noscript) under false accusations of malware and other insincere bullshit reasoning which only show they have ulterior motives.

The palemoon devs are without a doubt malicious people and their bad attitude is not the real problem, they're just outright untrustworthy.

My first thought was that Darth Vader's comment was an overreaction. But after reading some of those threads, I have to agree that these people are not worth supporting, to put it kindly. Let them have their non-braindead Windows users.

I dual boot Linux and Windows. Although, him being an idiot, I was affected when Alien removed his script. Pale Moon is not affected by the choices we make nor should we be, by the ones they make.

People badmouthing Linux and Windows doesn't mean I'm gonna stop using them both.

All --

I built palemoon via khronosshoty's SlackBuild and installed palemoon-28.1.0-x86_64-1_SBo_khronosschoty.tgz on Slackware64 14.2 + Multilib.

CPU and RAM are reasonable ... seems to work fine.

Except we are affected by their choices, when the devs intentionally add misfeatures it does affect the users. My question is if I know of two documented examples of such malicious code, I wonder how many examples I do not know about? Given that I lack the skill, time or energy to correctly audit their code base I am not comfortable with the possibility that more even more damaging examples are still undiscovered. However if the devs were more reasonable, easier to discuss issues with and actually cared to resolve them then I could have trusted them more... Pat is one good example of the latter.

Lastly, if you're going to call people idiots here, can you please do so elsewhere? Thanks!

If I do something idiotic, I can expect to be called an idiot. There's nothing sensitive about me. I live in a world where people don't care about sparing feelings. And I was referring to the devs and not alien bob, but you probably missed that.
