Maybe their utility doesn't work with the 2.6.0 kernel. I don't understand why a user would destroy their installation by trying to stay on the bleeding edge. If everything works, why the need to be out front? If one is a developer, sure, go on and experiment. I see so many posts over problems with 2.6.x. I just don't get it, everyone says everythig was alright. At least have a second installation to experiment with. If using linux is all about using something more stable and reliable than windows...
I'd suggest you go back to 2.4.23.
Myself, I prefer Slackware 8.1 as it is so much more stable and functional than 9.1, eveb with the 2.4.22 kernel. 8.1 just WORKS. I think some people have an exaggerated sense of their security and hardware needs that drives them to stay 'out front'.
Nothing personal, friend.
