Thumbs up Slackware64-14.1, Installing firefoxESR 38.0.1 using the -current source build?

Quick question. Slackware-14.1 releases use the ESR version of firefox (31 series), and Mozilla is now transitioning to firefoxESR 38.

Will firefoxESR 38 build on Slackware64-14.1 using the -current source slackbuild?

Is there something in the -current build toolchain, gcc version or development packages that limit ESR 38 to -current?

Oh, and an unrelated shout out of thanks to Rworkman and AlienBob for making XFCE 4.12 and KDE 4.14.3 packages for Slackware 14.1

Yep. I've done it.

Also, I understand that the official policy is to have ESR Firefox in Slackware Stable and non-ESR Firefox in slackware-current. So if you want a non-ESR Firefox, just use the -current SlackBuild to build it.

You can also use ruario's excellent script that will give you the latest Firefox

Just bear in mind that when you replace a genuine package with another one, you have to take care of the security fixes yourself, that is to say: stay informed of new or patched versions and do the rebuild (in case of using -current's packages) or re-run ruario's script (if you follow that way) as need be.
