bash-4.1$ konqueror
konqueror: error while loading shared libraries: libfam.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Thanks.
No. I'm not experienced to much with Linux but when something like this appears than you propably removed - by mistake - some other package that consist package that need to be executed - i Your case, libfam.so.O.
Try to find on google where is libfam.so.O - i tried but didn't find - and install this package. I had similar problem like You with Pidgin. I'd removed gst-plugin-base (i didn't know that it's needed) and i couldn't start Pidgin - "cannot open shared objec file xxx". I found on google what package has it and i installed it again, now it works.
Distribution: Slackware64-current with "True Multilib" and KDE4Town.

Try re-installing gamin-0.1.10.
It should be on the installation disk or available at the various slackware mirrors in the slackware/l directory or
slackware64/l directory.
You are right, it is the gamin package, not fam that is missing. Seems to me that I was confused about the two.

You don't need Google for that. Have a look at the file-search option of slackpkg. For example:
Code:
tobi@monster ~ :) % slackpkg file-search libfam
Looking for libfam in package list. Please wait... DONE
The list below shows the packages that contains "libfam" file.
[ installed ] - gamin-0.1.10-x86_64-3
You can search specific packages using "slackpkg search package".
