Slackware RAID install

I followed the guide here http://slackware.org.uk/slackware/sl...EADME_RAID.TXT to set up a RAID 0 install. I'm using generic kernel and a partition table like:

/md0 / /dev/sda3 /dev/sdb3
/md1 swap /dev/sda2 /dev/sdb2
/md2 /boot /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1

When I boot, the kernel loads, but then booting halts saying that the various MD devices have unknown partition tables, cannot find /mnt in /etc/fstab and cannot run /sbin/init and it gives the the chance to attempt to restore my system and carry on. If I just simply run:

mount -o ro /dev/md0 /mnt
exit

the system boots fine.

So, I am not sure what is going on, but something isn't right. does anyone have any idea?

Code:
root@darkstar:~# more /etc/fstab
/dev/md1         swap             swap        defaults         0   0
/dev/md0         /                ext4        defaults         1   1
/dev/md2         /boot            ext2        defaults         1   2
#/dev/cdrom      /mnt/cdrom       auto        noauto,owner,ro,comment=x-gvfs-sho
w 0   0
/dev/fd0         /mnt/floppy      auto        noauto,owner     0   0
devpts           /dev/pts         devpts      gid=5,mode=620   0   0
proc             /proc            proc        defaults         0   0
tmpfs            /dev/shm         tmpfs       defaults         0   0
Code:
root@darkstar:~# more /etc/mdadm.conf
ARRAY /dev/md2 UUID=9df43022:b7e58202:208cdb8d:9e23b04b
ARRAY /dev/md/1  metadata=1.2 UUID=40aaae38:7d79ea3c:e3ed0da4:6a522870 name=slac
kware:1
ARRAY /dev/md/0  metadata=1.2 UUID=c5d98707:48d51195:5870cb6e:2b581a2b name=slac
kware:0
Code:
# LILO configuration file
# generated by 'liloconfig'
#
# Start LILO global section
# Append any additional kernel parameters:
append="root=/dev/md0 vt.default_utf8=1"
raid-extra-boot = mbr-only
boot = /dev/md2
LBA32

[... snip ...]

# Linux bootable partition config begins
image = /boot/vmlinuz
  root = /dev/md0
  initrd = /boot/initrd.gz
  label = Linux
  read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
Am I missing anything?

Here's my own documentation for RAID installs:

http://www.microlinux.fr/slackware/L...rver-HOWTO.txt

Hope that helps.

It appears that rebuilding my initrd fixed it. I was basing it on the guide, but just using the old initrd command generator appeared to do the trick.

I'll take a look at your link, though.

Thanks!
