Slackware Problems

want to know how to make normal users have access to dial-up. I don't want to use root to connect to my ISP. I also want to know how to make my modem modules run automatically. I have a PCTEL Platinum V.90 and I configured the driver but it's compiled with a gcc version 2 and the kernel is compiled with gcc version 3, so I have to use insmod -f pctel/ptserial everytime I use Slackware, so I want to know how to make it run automatically. Another question is that which program can I use to download mp3 and play CDs, by the way i don't know why I can't play music.

Use pppd with demand-dialing. Saves you lots
of troubles.

add that line to your /etc/rc.d/rc.modules
(note that you'll have to specify the full
path to insmod and the full patch to the
module!).

gtk-gnutella would be a good idea. for playing CD's
there's a host of programs, gnome and KDE come with
at least one each. Then there's workbone (a command-
line CD player)

Cheers,
Tink
